When most Alabamaians say they are headed to the beach, they mean the Gulf Coast. As a life-long resident of the Southeast I was spoiled by those sugar-white beaches at an early age. Hubs and I have twice had the opportunity to visit Sandestin Gold and Beach Resort together and absolutely fell in love.
Located on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast, Sandestin is a 2,400-acre destination resort for all seasons and for all ages. Late September/early October is the ideal time to visit the Gulf Coast as far as I am concerned. The weather is perfect, the crowds are low, and the savings are amazing! In Fact, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is offering a 30% savings on travel from now until 3/6/14!
During one of our trips to Sandestin we were able to stay at the Grand Sandestin. While the hotel is a treat in itself, we most appreciated the proximity to The Village of Baytowne Wharf.
Located adjacent to Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina, The Village of Baytowne Wharf is a 28-acre pedestrian village surrounding a lagoon. More than two dozen restaurants, shops, boutiques, and nightlife venues line the walkways of the Village. There is also an EventsPlaza with vibrant special events, annual festivals and concerts. Designed by master resort planner Eldon Beck, The Village of Baytowne Wharf’s architecture combines French, Spanish, colonial, antebellum, and “Low Country.”
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers many complimentary family-friendly amenities such as
•Tennis Court Time
•Seasonal water amenities including kayaks and boogie boards
•Kitchenware in all units
I’m excited to be bringing my family there for a visit later this year! This will be our first trip to Sandestin with children and my first trip to the Gulf with my DSLR camera. I can’t wait to share some fabulous photos, stories, and tips with my readers after our trip so stay tuned! In the meantime if you are due for a beach getaway (and if you are a mom you are due!) don’t forget to check out the 30% discount being offered this fall at Sandestin as well as their calendar of events for the season.
Disclosure: I will be receiving accommodations for four days/three nights at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. No other compensation will be received. All opinions are my own.
