“The days are long but the years are short” is something I’m fond of saying. It’s simply amazing how quickly our children grow up when some days seem like they will never end! My baby is almost one. Somebody tell me how that happened?
This year I’ve been faithful to take a photo each and every day. More often than not our photo of the day features one of the kids or a representation of what they
destroyed occupied themselves with that day.
Gymboree wants us all to cherish childhood. I love how the video below reminds us to enjoy the little moments every day and to get out and play!
This summer we spent lots of play time at our local aquatic center.
And the playground
Now that September is here and the weather is hotter, (yes, I said hotter. This is Alabama) we’re taking play time indoors. Our local skating rink has a preschool day once per week where kids can play in inflatables, a ball pit, mini-rides, do the hokey-pokey (as well as the Chicken Dance and Wipeout) and eat a snack before lacing up their skates. Sweet T loved her first time around the rink so much we try to go back every week.
When all else fails we head over to Chuck E.Cheese. Hey, it’s air-conditioned!
In the evenings at twilight it’s cool enough for Sweet T to ride off into the sunset with Gus. It’s a real treat to watch them play so sweetly together.
What are your favorite ways to play?
Be sure to watch the video above for inspiration. Gymboree knows a thing or two about play. After all, they are “the official sponsor of childhood.” Spend some time in play with your child today!
