I’m loving my Maytag microwave! You may remember a time when microwaves weren’t around, but as a member of Generation Y I wouldn’t know how to function without one. I still remember the humongous, expensive microwave that I grew up with in the 1980′s and am proud to now own a Maytag Stainless over-the-range microwave that is definitely a cut above what my mother had.
My Maytag Microwave
The Maytag over-range-microwave delivers a powerful 1,000 watts of cooking power for uniform cooking results even in cookware as large as 10” x 15”. The WideGlide tray helps accomplish this by moving back and forth inside the microwave.
Now let’s talk casseroles. Did you know you can cook a whole casserole in this unit? I’ve done it! During my last trimester of pregnancy I made up a bunch of casseroles and even participated in a casserole swap in order to not have to cook for a while after Gus was born. Most of the casseroles have pre-cooked ingredients but require reheating in the oven for 30-45 minutes. I tried popping my penne pasta bake in the microwave instead with stellar results. Hubs was happy that dinner was on the table 10 minutes after he got home instead of 45 minutes after he walked through the door.
The sensor reheat feature allows you to warm your meals without worrying about cooking times or power levels. I was thinking “Whatever. I’m smarter than the microwave and am better off continually checking the soup and adding time as needed. BUT! Since I’m reviewing this thing I gotta give it a go and report because it’s the honest thing to do.” Lo and behold it worked perfectly. I was kind of freaked out to be honest. The soup came out heated to perfection. Not too hot, not too cool, and evenly heated throughout. So now I have to admit that this microwave is smarter than me. Worth it to be able to press those buttons and leave the kitchen (to deal with toddler drama of course) and know that my meal will be delivered perfectly.
Maytag has me covered with quick and easy cooking/reheating options but what about clean up time? They have both me and Sweet T covered in that department. She’s really enjoyed helping load our new dishwasher.
My Maytag Dishwasher
The Jetclean Plus Steam cycle utilizes high-pressure spray jets and increased temperatures to power through stuck-on food while reducing spots on glassware. The premium adjustable upper rack adds additional convenience since we have tall glasses and long cookie sheets. Depending on the load, I can adjust the top rack up or down to accommodate by just lifting the button on each side of the rack.

Our utensils always come out squeaky clean too. This is Sweet T’s favorite part of the dishwasher. She thinks it’s big fun to load the forks and spoons for me.
I can’t tell you how jazzed I am to own a dishwasher. Thanks Maytag for saving me from a life of drudgery at the sink.
I run my dishwasher at least once per day and don’t know how I lived without it.

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Kitchen Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with a Maytag kitchen appliances set, including a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and range to facilitate my post.

I don’t use my dishwasher nearly as much as I should. But I would love, love, love, that microwave!
That is awesome! I’m getting my first dishwasher too, in the new house, which seems to odd to me because I am so used to washing dishes myself. (My condo didn’t have a dishwasher)
That microwave is so nice!
Oh my gosh, I can’t even get my microwave to heat a tiny little frozen entree evenly. I can’t imagine putting a casserole in there–that is awesome!
It’s so cool with all the gadgets they come with every year!
Do you notice a difference in it moving back and forth rather than around in a circle? Does is heat the other side?
I just noticed everything being evenly heated. Even soup which is amazing to me.
I’ve never owned a Maytag product but those look really stylish and functional.
I need a microwave like that. My problem with microwaves is that I am never sure just how long to cook something. And our present microwave was in the townhouse when we bought it but no manual so it is really frustrating to try to use it!
I need to replace my dishwasher pretty soon. I’ve repaired it several times now.
Those look really nice, much better than my hand me downs.
very nice. I’m so ready for new appliances everything is falling apart around here
You just reminded me about how badly we need a new microwave….oy!
That is such a nice microwave! I just got a microwave after not having one for a year, it’s weird having one again. I would really love one over my stove, though, as we don’t have much counter space.
Cooking an entire casserole in a micro? My micro is so out-of-date! And well my dishwasher died last spring. I’m due for some upgrades!
I don’t believe I have ever used Maytag before, but it’s a brand that my grandmother swore by!
Those are so nice!!! I am in the market for a new dishwasher and this one would look great in my kitchen.
I have to say that when I first got that microwave I was really confused as to how it was going to turn. I love that it’s like that though since like you said, that means you can fit a whole casserole!
I am especially in love with that microwave. Mine is dying a slow and painful death and I can not decide which one to get next. I’m so tempted by the one you have!
What gorgeous appliances! I really love the keep warm feature on the microwave.
I’m loving that microwave!
Both of these sound awesome! I’d love a microwave that would reheat without burning or not reheating evenly! And the dishwasher top rack being adjustable would be so nice!
I really like that utensil part too!
That looks nice, and I remember the HUGE microwave we had as a kid.
That is a lovely looking microwave
We have a Maytag microwave too and it works great. (Just have an older one than what you are reviewing here)
I like the sensor reheat on the microwave as I reheat a lot of my food. I own a Maytag dishwasher and I really been happy with it.
Both dishwasher and microwave look like really nice products. I like Maytag alot! My favorite Maytags were my washing machines. I wish I still had them because the GE I have cannot compare.
Lovely for you!
If I had a better dishwasher I would use mine more. I wish I had this one
Love them both! Would love to have a dishwasher
That is a beautiful microwave! I also love all the options on the dishwasher. I’m very jealous!
The microwave looks so nice! I love stainless steel appliances
I am uber jealous of that microwave and dishwasher! I am much older than you and remember my 1st microwave yes one of those ginormous ones. Got it when my first son was 5 years old. But… I got a portable dishwasher with the money I received from a bridal shower. After washing dishes in my apt in college I knew I was starting my marriage right out of college with a dishwasher. Ran it once or twice a day when my four sons were growing up and now that they are gone once or twice a week. Wouldn’t be without a dishwasher or microwave.
I would totally love the Maytag Microwave! I use a microwave several times a day since I have three little ones I need to re-heat food or prepare bottles. Maytag is a respected brand also that I would consider if I was able to spend a bit extra on appliances.
That sounds amazing! I am looking for a new one.
I love this microwave. My microwave is starting to die. It takes for ever to heat something up. My husband loves the Maytag brand because it holds up so well. Thanks for the review.
