Sweet T has diaper rash for the first time in her life. I’m thinking weaning has something to do with it but since I’m not going to start nursing again now that she’s eating table food like a champ, all I can do is try to force more water and juice in her and give her oatmeal baths. Why pay for oatmeal bath soak in the store when you can make it yourself? All you need is oatmeal (rolled oats, quick cook or instant will all work as long as there’s no sugar or flavoring added); a coffee grinder, blender or food processor; and a clean, empty container with a lid.
Grind the oats into powder and store. That’s it! Use about 1/3 cup for a toddler’s bath water in the sink. Use more if bathing in the bathtub with more water. This makes a nice, natural soak for mama too.
