The battle against stinkies in Sweet T’s prefolds is in full force and I’m about to pull out the big guns! I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally try some Rockin’ Green detergent. If you’ve been cloth diapering your little one for any length of time you’ve heard about this must-have product. Rockin’ Green was developed by a cloth diapering mama who was tired of stinky dipes and wanted a solution that would be environmentally friendly as well as gentle on baby’s skin. The detergent is unique in that it comes in three formulas to ensure effectiveness. Choose Soft, Hard, or Classic Rock depending on the water composition at your house. Since our water is neither particularly hard nor soft, I chose Classic Rock for this campaign in the stinky war.

Battle #1: Stinky Diapers
Sweet T’s is about to outgrow her yellow-edged prefolds and I don’t want to store them away stinky. To wash this batch of diapers for the last time until the next baby I started off with a cold rinse then did a hot soak with 3 Tablespoons The Green Tea’s scent. I followed up with a heavy duty wash and during the cold rinse, I added a little vinegar. Those prefolds now smell clean and I’m not worried about storing them and getting a smelly surprise when I pull them out in a couple years.

Battle #2: Prepping New Diapers
I just got some Cloth-Eez Workhorse fitteds (look for a review soon!) that need prepping and I want to start them off right. Mötley Cleän was my fragrance of choice for this job and I used only 1/2 Tablespoon in each of the three prep cycles just to help with the natural oils in the cotton. They now smell fresh and are absorbing great!

Battle #3: Mama Cloth
I use mama cloth for the same reasons I cloth diaper: to save money, keep harmful chemicals out of our bodies, be more self sufficient, and waste less. It’s just as important for my products to be sanitized and fresh-smelling so I put Rockin’ Green to the test to see if it could multitask. It did not disappoint! 1 Tablespoon of Lavender Mint Revival freshened my mama cloth right up.

What I love about this product:
Reduces odor better than my usual brand (Publix Free and Clear)
Having a choice of fragrance without worrying about its affect on my fluff
Can be used in standard and high efficiency machines
